Les Rencontres Scientifiques d’IFP Energies nouvelles: International scientific conference on Hybrid and Electric Vehicles (RHEVE 2011)

IFPEN’s second RHEVE scientific conference, focusing on recent technological developments in the field of hybrid and electric vehicles, took place on 6 and 7 December 2011 at the Rueil-Malmaison site.
The event was led by François Badin, Julien Bernard and Antonio Sciarretta in their capacity as scientific correspondents and helped to reinforce IFPEN’s position as a major player in this sector, with the agenda including demonstrations of our software and vehicles. It was also an ideal opportunity to make new contacts with a view to forging future partnerships.
With over 100 participants from 10 countries and a variety of backgrounds (industry, research institutes, universities, doctoral students, etc.), RHEVE brought together experts to discuss a range of topics: architectures and specific components, simulation and assessment during use, energy storage systems and onboard energy management and optimization.
Around 30 plenary papers and posters were presented during the course of four sessions. Keynote presentations also gave participants an insight into advances in the field of electrified vehicles (presentations by Renault and GM Europe), energy storage (presentation by Saft) or activities in China (presentation by the Chinese Academy of Sciences). The main papers will be covered in a forthcoming special issue of the OGST journal.
