Optical diagnostics

Optical engine diagnostics is a key step in research aimed at understanding combustion. It makes it possible to view and analyze phenomena related to injection and the internal aerodynamics of engines.

For this purpose, IFP Energies nouvelles has at its disposal the most advanced optical resources:

• transparent engines,
• 150 bar/1200°C cells,
• variable-frequency lasers.

IFP Energies nouvelles is therefore able to validate the physical models associated with calculation codes.
