Appointment at IFP

Rémi Eschard has been appointed Director of IFP’s Geology-Geochemistry-Geophysics Division. He has taken over from Bernard Coletta who is to be assigned new responsibilities.

Rémi Eschard, 47, graduated as an engineer at the IFP School and holds a doctorate in sedimentary geology from the Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg. He joined IFP in 1989 within the Geology-Geochemistry Division. In 1997, he was appointed project manager in reservoir geology, before taking over the helm of the Sedimentology-Stratigraphy Department of the Geology-Geochemistry-Geophysics Division in 2001. Since 2005, he had been in charge of the Reservoir Characterization issue within the Exploration-Production Technology Business Unit.

As an expert, Rémi Eschard works for various French and international scientific evaluation bodies in the field of sedimentary geology. He also boasts extensive experience acquired worldwide as part of numerous industrial projects conducted in partnership with oil companies, in North Africa in particular.
