IFP Energies nouvelles' 2012 Yves Chauvin thesis prize
The 2012 prize was awarded to Marie Savonnet and Ibrahim Abada by Yves Chauvin on 27 November 2012 in recognition of the excellence of their research, focusing, respectively, on the "Synthesis of new MOF-type materials with acidic and basic properties and evaluation in catalysis" and "Modeling of the natural gas markets in Europe, in oligopolistic competition, the GaMMES model and a few applications".

2012 City of Lyon Young Researcher's Prize, "Sustainable Development Sciences and Engineering" category
This prize was awarded to Antoine Fécant on 28 September 2012.

Best poster prize at the opening session of the 22nd International Symposium on Chemical Reaction Engineering
Manel Fourati, a PhD student, was awarded the best poster prize at the opening session of the 22nd International Symposium on Chemical Reaction Engineering held in Maastricht (Netherlands) from 2 to 5 September 2012.

Société française de Minéralogie et de Cristallographie (French Society of Mineralogy and Crystallography) prize
This thesis prize was awarded to Frank Bourdelle, a PhD student, during the Serpentine days 2012 workshop held from 2 to 6 September 2012.

Prize for best oral paper at the 35th international congress organized by the British Zeolite Association (BZA)
Jérémy Dhainaut, a PhD student, was awarded the prize for best oral paper at the 35th international congress organized by the British Zeolite Association (BZA) in July 2012. His presentation at the event related to his work on the synthesis of zeolite MFI nanosheets in the presence of mono-ammonium, both a germination promoter (structuring) and growth inhibitor.

Prize for best poster at the 46th U.S. Rock Mechanics/Geomechanics Symposium held by the American Rock Mechanics Association
This prize was awarded to Anne-Lise Guilmin, a PhD student, and her co-authors William Sassi and Jean-François Barthélémy, both engineers, in Chicago in June 2012. The poster presented the authors' work based on multi-scale modeling to simulate the hydromechanical coupling of a sedimentary column subjected to tectonic constraints during sedimentation.

2012 Codegepra thesis prize
Mahdi Yazdanpanah, PhD student, was awarded the 2012 Codegepra (Comité de développement du génie des procédés en Rhône-Alpes – Rhône-Alpes Committee for the development of process engineering) thesis prize for his thesis entitled "Étude d'une configuration de combustion en boucle chimique (CLC) avec charges gazeuses pour le captage du CO2" (Study of a chemical looping combustion (CLC) configuration with gas feedstocks for CO2 capture).

2nd "Top 10" Poster Presentation Award of Excellence
In April 2012, Jean-Marc Daniel, an engineer, received the 2nd "Top 10" Poster Presentation Award of Excellence at the annual conference of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, for his presentation relating to an innovative methodology for the measurement of constraints affecting sedimentary basins during their geological development.

2012 SCF DivCat prize
Emmanuelle Guillon, IFPEN engineer in the Catalysis and Separation Division, has been awarded the SCF DivCat prize for "her remarkable contribution to acid-base catalysis and the quality of her recent research in the field of biofuels".

Grand prix Michel Gouilloud Schlumberger 2011 prize
On 22 november, Mickaële Le Ravalec-Dupin, IFPEN expert in the Reservoir Engineering Division, has been awarded the Grand prix Michel Gouilloud Schlumberger 2011 prize by the French Academy of Sciences in recognition of the original geostatistical methods that she has developed.

2011 Yves Chauvin thesis prize awarded to Thomas Dutriez
Thomas Dutriez was awarded IFP Energies nouvelles' 2011 Yves Chauvin thesis prize in recognition of his work on "Multidimensional chromatography: towards extensive molecular characterization of vacuum distillate-type feedstocks and an understanding of their reactivity to hydrotreatment".
Overseen by Marion Courtiade and Hugues Dulot, two IFP Energies nouvelles researchers, Thomas Dutriez prepared his thesis under the management of Didier Thiébault at ESCPI ParisTech, within the École doctorale Chimie physique et Chimie analytique de Paris (Paris Doctoral School for Physical and Analytical Chemistry). >> read more

2011 Bull-Joseph Fourier prize awarded to Julien Bohbot, a researcher at IFP Energies nouvelles
On 28 June, Julien Bohbot, Project Manager and research engineer at IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN) was awarded the 2011 Bull-Joseph Fourier prize for high-performance digital simulation. He was awarded for his work on the parallelization of 3D IFP-C3D industrial simulation code, used to simulate automobile engine combustion. The advances made open up interesting prospects for progress in the development of new physical models which aim to predict pollutant emissions.

2011 EAGE Arie van Weelden thesis prize
This prize was awarded to Marius Verscheure, a former PhD student at IFPEN, for the work he completed as part of his thesis entitled "Inversion conjointe des propriétés géométriques et hydrodynamiques d'un réservoir fracturé" (Joint inversion of geometric and hydrodynamic properties of a fractured reservoir), supervised by Jean-Paul Chilès, associate research director at Mines ParisTech and André Fourno, Research engineer in IFPEN's Reservoir Engineering Division.

2011 Eccomas Prize for the best European thesis
This prize was awarded to Damien Kah, former PhD student at IFPEN, for the work he completed as part of his thesis entitled "Prise en compte des aspects polydispersés pour la modélisation d'un jet de carburant dans les moteurs à combustion interne" (Inclusion of polydisperse aspects for modeling a fuel jet in internal combustion engines) supervised by Marc Massot who is a lecturer at École Centrale Paris and Stéphane Jay, research engineer in IFPEN's Energy Application Techniques division.

2010 Thesis Prize of the French École Polytechnique
Jérémie Dautriat received one of the 2010 thesis prizes for the quality of his thesis on the "Hydromechanic behavior of reservoir rocks under stress - Relationships between permeability changes and scales of damage mechanisms". Academic guidance was given by Jean Raphanel and Alexandre Dimanov from the École Polytechnique's Solid Mechanics Laboratory and was overseen by Nicolas Gland at IFP Energies nouvelles.

2010 Prize of the Catalysis division of the French Chemistry Society
Pascal Raybaud, an expert within the Catalysis and Separation Division of IFP Energies nouvelles won this prize. This prize awards significant research work which has been ongoing since 1995, making it possible to streamline and conceptualize heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysts on an atomic scale, thanks to quantum molecular modeling combined with experimental techniques.

2010 EAGE's Wegener Award
François Roure, an expert within the Geology-Geochemistry-Geophysics Division of IFP Energies nouvelles, was bestowed with this award by the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers in recognition of his research contribution to the understanding of thrust faults and foreland basins, as well as the effects of compressive tectonics on fluid movements.

2010 Chéreau-Lavet Prize of the best engineer-inventor
Christian Wittrisch received this Jury Prize on 17 January 2011 during the 10th Chéreau-Lavet prize-giving ceremony. He has been awarded for the invention of the Simphor, an instrumentation and measurement system for a horizontal well. He has already received two prizes for this invention which has been marketed by Vinci Technologies.

2010 Yves Chauvin Thesis Prize of IFP Energies nouvelles
The prize was awarded to Ludovic Métivier, a former PhD student at IFP Energies nouvelles, for his thesis "A non-linear inversion method for high-resolution seismic imaging", supervised by Laurence Halpern (lecturer at Paris 13 University) and overseen by Florence Delprat-Jannaud at IFP Energies nouvelles.

2010 Thesis Prize of the SCF (French Chemistry Society)
The prize was awarded to Frédéric Biscay, a former PhD student at IFP Energies nouvelles, for his thesis on "Molecular modeling of high-pressure liquid-steam interfaces and prediction of interfacial tension" supervised by Patrice Malfreyt (lecturer at Blaise Pascal University in Clermont-Ferrand) and overseen by Véronique Lachet and Philippe Ungerer at IFP Energies nouvelles.

2009 Yves Chauvin Thesis Prize of IFP Energies nouvelles
the prize was awarded to Jean-Baptiste Michel for his research entitled "Modeling of heterogeneous mixture turbulent combustion in self-ignition mode with a view to application in diesel engine simulation".

ACS Student Award 2009
Deana Soogund, PhD student at IFP Energies nouvelles, won this award of the American Chemical Society for her paper entitled "New startingmaterials for highly activemolybdenum-vanadiumbased catalysts for the hydrotreatment of residues".

2009 SPE's Young Professional Paper Contest
Sandra Buret, PhD student at IFP Energies nouvelles, was the winner at the 2009 SPE Formation Damage conference for her paper entitled "Water Quality and Well Injectivity: Do Residual Stable Oil in Water Emulsions matter?". The co-authors of the paper are Lahcen Nabzar, Expert at IFP Energies nouvelles and Amane Jada from the Institut de Sciences des Matériaux (Institute of Material Sciences) in Mulhouse.
