IFP Energies nouvelles partner in the NextSTEP project
IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN) is a partner in the NextSTEP R&D research project which is working to develop an electronic solution and associated software environment for engine control in the latest generation of environmentally friendly vehicles.
Backed by Oseo, NextSTEP is being led by Scaleo Chip, a fabless semiconductor company. Also involved in the project are Menta, the Delphi Automotive group and the IFPEN and CEA LIST research centres.
Developing vehicles which are more economical, greener and safer involves increasingly powerful in-vehicle electronic control systems. The Olea microcontroller, developed as part of the NextSTEP project, will provide an innovative solution, notably by ensuring optimal in-vehicle energy management in hybrid vehicles and guaranteeing the best possible performance in terms of safety, functionality and reliability.
IFPEN is contributing its expertise to the NextSTEP project in the field of thermal and electric powertrains, in particular for digital simulations, in-vehicle control systems and on-board vehicle energy monitoring. IFPEN is also providing the project with its rapid prototyping tools and test resources.
