International Conference - Geofluids VII

The 7th international conference Geofluids organized by IFP Energies Nouvelles (France), Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) and Université de Lorraine (France) will be held at the IFPEN, Rueil-Malmaison, near Paris, France, from 6th to 8th of June 2012.
The focus of Geofluids is to understand, model and predict the interactions of fluids in the Earth's crust. Topics range from theoretical studies to applied research supporting development and management of economic resources (petroleum, metals, groundwater and geothermal), as well as for underground storage (e.g. carbon capture and storage, acid gas injection). Such topics have gained ever-increasing importance through the past years, reflecting technological challenges in exploration and development of increasingly scarce reserves and associated environmental issues.
Interaction of academic and industry geoscientists and exchange between different disciplines have provided throughout the six previous Geofluids conferences exciting new analytical and
modeling techniques for understanding fluid flow and mass transfer in geological media at a variety of scales.
The Geofluids conference cycle has become an established showcase for leading-edge academic and applied research in fluid migration, evolution and interaction in sedimentary basins and orogenic belts. New associated topics are always welcome and they add to the diversity and dynamics of these conferences which have already been organized on different continents (UK, 1993; Northern Ireland, 1997; Spain, 2000; the Netherlands, 2003; Canada, 2006; Australia, 2009). The upcoming conference, Geofluids VII will bring together participants from the worlds of academic research, applied research and industry.
