Political decision-makers, the scientific community, the media, the general public: IFP Energies nouvelles aims to provide precise and objective information to enable as many people as possible to have a better understanding of the energy issues of the 21st century.
IFP Energies nouvelles boasts exceptional documentary resources and a unique capital of scientific, technical and economic knowledge gleaned over several decades of research and industrial successes.
The fields of energy and the environment will be subject to significant change. IFP Energies nouvelles strives to provide as many people as possible with the necessary information for a better understanding of this century's major challenges:
While the dissemination of knowledge is one of IFPEN's public interest missions, it also contributes to its scientific influence, and, more broadly, that of French and European research on the international stage. IFPEN has built up a unique body of knowledge as a result of several decades of scientific research and industrial successes.
IFPEN has created its own peer-reviewed journal, Oil & Gas Science and Technology (OGST). Indexed in the major international databases, it covers all the disciplines and fields of activity within the scope of IFPEN (exploration-production, refining and petrochemicals, powertrains, new energies). It is freely available on OGST website. In addition, IFPEN publishes over 200 articles every year, 75% of which are in peer-reviewed international journals. These journals are indexed in Thomson ISI databases.
IFPEN also publishes reference works in its recognized fields of scientific expertise.
Finally, IFPEN contributes to the promotion of scientific research and ensures its knowledge is disseminated to the widest possible audience. To this end, it is a member of the “Universciences partenaires” foundation. In 2011, IFPEN took part in various conferences and events, in partnership with the Palais de la Découverte science museum, aimed at schools and the general public and covering themes such as transport, CCS and the energy transition. In addition, every year its researchers participate in the French Science Festival and its website includes a Discovery space aimed at the general public. It provides analyses, summaries and educational documents keeping readers informed of the major issues associated with the fields of energy, transport and the environment, as well as the R&D under way at IFPEN to meet the challenges in these fields.
