Christine Travers is appointed Dean of IFP School1,
commencing September 1 and taking over from Philippe Pinchon.
Christine Travers is an engineer from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Rennes where she was awarded a Postgraduate degree (DEA) in Water and Environmental Chemistry. Also holding a DEA in Petroleum Techniques and Science from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure du Pétrole et des Moteurs (ENSPM, now IFP School), she did her doctoral thesis at IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN).
Christine Travers began her career in 1982 as an R&D engineer in the Kinetics and Catalysis Division at IFPEN where she took part in developing the first commercial paraffin isomerization catalysts.
From 1994 to 2001, she was a teacher and researcher at ENSPM/IFPEN, professor at ENSPM and head of the DEA in Chemical Kinetics at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC) where, in 1998, she was awarded an accreditation to supervise research.
From 2001 to 2006, she also held the position of head of the Refining-Engineering-Gas program at IFP School and of the Refining-Petrochemicals-Catalyst pathway for the Master's in Science and Technology at UPMC.
After a provisional assignment lasting several months at Shell, she was appointed Director of the Refining-Petrochemicals-Gas Center at IFP School.
Since 2015, she has been Director of Refining-Chemistry at IFP Training, a subsidiary of IFPEN specialized in vocational training.
She is also President of the CLAR think tank in Refining-Petrochemicals-Products-Biofuels at EVOLEN since January 2012. From 2002 to 2005, she was President of the Catalyst Division of the Société Française de Chimie.
As the inventor of 66 IFPEN patents in the field of Catalysts and Refining processes and author of 56 publications in national and international conferences and scientific journals, Christine Travers has been distinguished by the Order of the Legion of Honor and the Order of Academic Palms.
