Gérard Momplot has been appointed Director of International Relations.
He takes over the role left vacant by Daniel Champlon, who is retiring.
Gérard Momplot is a graduate of the Ecole Centrale de Nantes engineering school and also has an MBA from the Cranfield School of Management (United Kingdom) and EM Lyon (France).
Gérard Momplot began his career in 1984 as a project engineer with Novatome, a nuclear engineering and construction company.
In 1986, he joined IFP Energies nouvelles to take on various research and development missions in the field of flexible offshore pipelines.
In 1993, he was appointed Administrative and Financial Director with Vinci Technologies. Then, in 1996, he joined ISIS Holding and ISIS Développement as Investment and Portfolio Director.
Between 2000 and 2005, he held a number of management positions with IFP Energies nouvelles, notably at the Knowledge Dissemination Business Unit, in the fields of start-up project incubation, economic intelligence and publishing.
In 2006, he was appointed General Representative of the Oil and Marine Studies Board (CEP&M).
In 2007, he joined the GEP (Groupement des entreprises parapétrolières - association serving the French oil industry and related sectors) where he was responsible for launching the CITEPH program for the private funding of R&I projects in the fields of exploration-production. He became Executive Director in 2009.
In 2011, he was appointed Executive Director of Evolen (formerly GEP-AFTP), the French Association of companies and professionals in the oil and gas sectors and related industries.
