Saïd Nachet has been appointed Director of International Relations. He takes over the role left vacant by Gérard Momplot, who is retiring.

Saïd Nachet, 59, is a graduate of IFP School and holds a PhD in energy economics from the University of Burgundy. He joined IFPEN in 1990 as a program manager at IFP School before moving to the Communication Department in charge of the subsidiaries' communication and then to the Hydrocarbons Department at the Ministry of Industry in 1995. In 1999, he was appointed oil attaché at the French Embassy in Riyadh, then joined the Near and Middle East Economic Mission (Dubai) in 2004 as Energy Advisor for North Africa and the Middle East.

From 2006 to 2012, he headed the energy division of the International Energy Forum (Riyadh), an international organization that promotes dialogue between energy producing and consuming countries. He then founded Energy Consulting and Advisory Services, a consulting firm that he managed until February 2021.

Since 2017, he has been the director of the International Oil Summit and the International Gas and Electricity Summit, organized by IFPEN and IFP Training, and since 2018 he has led the Paris Energy Club think-tank.
