On April 4, Pierre-Franck Chevet, President of IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN), and Christine Travers, Dean of IFP School, had the honor of welcoming Bertrand Maréchal, CEO of Saipem SA, honorary patron of the Class of 2023.

Mr. Maréchal was accompanied by Esthel Clauzé-Lazare, School Relations Liaison at Saipem SA.

The honorary patronage ceremony was held in the Dahlias amphitheater at IFPEN in the presence of the engineering students of the Class of 2023.

On this occasion, Mr. Maréchal shared his career path, discussed Saipem's strategy and its market positioning in the context of the energy transition before giving some advice to the students based on his experience. His speech was followed by a question-and-answer session with the students.

The ceremony ended with the presentation of a souvenir trophy engraved with Mr. Maréchal's name and recalling his capacity as honorary patron of the Class of 2023.

This year marks the 25th edition of this symbolic event. Indeed, the honorary patronage ceremony is one of the greatest moments in the training of IFP School students. It is an opportunity for them to discuss future issues with senior executives from the energy and powertrains sectors.

This patronage also aims to promote the engineering professions and strengthen the existing links between the School and its industrial partners.
