Presented on 27 June in Brussels during the "Hydrogen for Europe" workshop, organized by the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP), the pre-study carried out in partnership by SINTEF and IFPEN is online.

Commissioned by the IOGP, the pre-study aims to identify existing knowledge for the production and distribution of "low-emission energy carriers" and assess the potential of hydrogen in Europe. In particular, it takes stock of the potential role of hydrogen produced from natural gas and decarbonized by CCS in achieving Europe's climate objectives at a reduced cost.

An in-depth study on the strategic role of low-carbon hydrogen and the actions to be taken to make hydrogen a pillar of Europe's energy transition is currently being evaluated.

Take a look at the key results as well as the full report of the Hydrogen for Europe pre-study.
