In a few words

Julien Garcia is a research engineer in life cycle assessment (LCA) and ecodesign at IFP Energies nouvelles. His work focuses on the development of environmental assessment methodologies, primarily applied to the mobility, catalysis and CO₂ capture sectors.
He completed a CIFRE‑funded PhD, followed by a postdoctoral appointment with an automotive manufacturer, where he worked on the deployment of an ecodesign approach during the innovation phase and on the development of an ecodesign tool for batteries for electrified vehicles. He subsequently held a position there as an LCA and ecodesign specialist, supervising two PhD projects respectively on the ecodesign of a car‑sharing service and on the interplay between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and design.
Julien Garcia lectures on ecodesign and LCA at the University of Évry Val d’Essonne (IUT GMP, third year) and plays an active role in the research community as an elected member of the Board of Directors of the EcoSD Network, dedicated to the design of sustainable systems.
