Wissam Dib has been appointed member of the European Union Research and Innovation for the Automotive Sector (EURIAS) expert group, created by the European Commission’s Directorate General for research and innovation.

Advising the European Commission on R&I priorities

EURIAS is responsible for advising the European Commission on matters concerning the preparation of future initiatives and policy instruments dedicated to research and innovation for the European automotive sector.

This expert group brings together around fifty leading European organizations: manufacturers, equipment suppliers, research bodies, universities and associations, covering the entire automotive and mobility value chain.  

The group’s remit is to: 
 

  • identify research and innovation priorities for reinforcing the competitiveness of the European automotive sector,
     
  • draw up a strategic research, innovation and deployment agenda for 2026,
     
  • prepare the broad lines of the next European Framework Program for Research and Innovation, FP10 (2028–2034).
     

EURIAS’s deliberations will also inform the preparation of the future European Automotive Joint Undertaking (JU), dedicated to innovation and technological leadership in the automotive sector.
 

IFPEN’s recognized expertise

This appointment is testament to the recognition IFPEN enjoys as a trusted third party in strategic discussions at European Union level, as well as a key player in the decarbonization of mobility and European technological sovereignty. It builds on the institute’s ongoing involvement in key initiatives such as EGVIA2Zero and EARPA, reinforcing its role as a major driver of the transition toward low-carbon and competitive mobility.
