IFPEN, a key player in the bioeconomy, is your partner
- to meet the challenges of the ecological transition and help build a decarbonised and sustainable future
- to integrate renewable resources at the heart of industrial innovation
Converting biomass waste into materials
IFPEN designs processes to manufacture materials from non-food biomass waste.
Objective: produce everyday products—such as tyres, bottles, adhesives, and more—while limiting the extraction of fossil resources.
Converting waste into biofuels
IFPEN develops processes to produce fuels from non-food biomass waste.
Objective: decarbonise transport by offering alternatives to fossil-based resources.
Assessing and improving soil quality
IFPEN develops tools to assess soil carbon content and the impact of microplastics, as well as technologies to enrich soils with nutrients.
Objective: protect soils, which play a key role in the energy and ecological transition.

Stabilising soils
The MAGELLAN® solution, developed by IFPEN in collaboration with Solinjection, addresses the shrink–swell behaviour of clay soils and helps prevent cracking in buildings.

Understanding the fate of microplastics in the environment
IFPEN develops tools and methods to quantify, characterise and map microplastics in the environment.
Objective: combat microplastic pollution in water and soils.
