TechnipFMC renews its technological partnership with IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN) on innovation and technology

London, Paris, Houston, April 3, 2019 — TechnipFMC (NYSE: FTI) (Paris: FTI) signed the renewal of its strategic partnership agreement for innovation and technology development with IFPEN.

This renewal comes as a result of the close collaboration between TechnipFMC and IFPEN initiated since the invention of the flexible pipeline more than 40 years ago. It has contributed to many commercial successes and technological advances focusing over the last years on ultra-deep water solutions, flow assurance and on the development of product capability for ever more demanding application conditions (high pressure, high temperature, increased corrosivity).

The partnership will continue supporting TechnipFMC’s leading expertise in flexible, rigid and umbilicals, and expanding collaboration on the development of novel composite hybrid flexible pipelines. It will also explore new technologies in the field of the energy transition, renewables and carbon capture in order to anticipate the evolutions of our energy industrial domain.

“We are delighted to renew this partnership agreement which outlines the strong ties and synergies with TechnipFMC. IFPEN remains committed to supporting innovation and competitiveness in the energy sector as the industry looks for solutions to the energy and climate challenges it faces", says Didier Houssin, IFPEN's Chairman and CEO.

Justin Rounce, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, stated: "IFPEN, has been a long-term partner that dates back to the beginning of our company, and have been instrumental in supporting TechnipFMC develop industry-leading technologies and services. We have realized significant value from the technology transferred through this close collaboration and look forward to many new areas of joint development going forward”.
