INOCEL and IFP Energies nouvelles have signed a strategic collaboration agreement for the development of the INOCEL Z300 high-power fuel cell.

INOCEL, a specialist in the development of high-power fuel cells, and IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN), a major player in research and training in the fields of energy, transport and the environment, have signed a strategic collaboration agreement to conduct a test campaign for the development of the INOCEL Z300 fuel cell system.

High-power installations for an innovative product

The partnership marks a crucial stage in the product's development and industrialization. INOCEL will benefit from IFPEN's expertise and know-how in supporting the technological changes linked to the ecological and energy transition in mobility, to accelerate the development of the INOCEL fuel cell.
Through this collaboration, the two partners will pool their skills, expertise and resources to carry out all the necessary tests and studies on the INOCEL Z300 product.
IFPEN's high-power installations will be managed by INOCEL, which will benefit from in-depth expertise of the entire system, from stack to DC/DC. IFPEN's high-performance analysis resources will enable INOCEL to optimize the performance of its product for use on board vehicles.

Working together to meet a technological challenge

Marie-Laure Michaux, INOCEL's Technical Director, said: “This is a significant step forward for INOCEL, marking the first time the system has been taken out of the design office environment. We are determined to meet all the challenges that will enable us to maximize the performance and reliability of our fuel cell.”
Pierre Leduc, Head of Fuel Cells for Mobility at IFPEN, said: “The collaboration with INOCEL is a fantastic opportunity to deploy our testing resources and methods, as well as our modeling, control and electronics capabilities, in the service of a very promising technology. Our aim is to help INOCEL's innovative product adapt to the constraints of fuel cell use in heavy-duty vehicles, and thus promote the transition to electric power for energy-hungry vehicles that are ill-suited to battery-only operation.”
This collaboration is part of a vision of long-term partnership, enabling INOCEL and IFPEN to actively contribute to promoting clean energies for a more sustainable energy future.
