In a few words

François Ropital is a Materials Engineer from the National Institute of Applied Sciences in Lyon (1980), Doctor of the École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Saint-Étienne in Chemical Engineering (1984) and HDR from the University of Paris VI in Applied Chemistry and Industrial Process Engineering (2002).
He works at IFP Énergies nouvelles on the behavior of materials for energy technologies within the Applied Physico-Chemistry and Mechanics Department. From 2010 to 2015 Francois Ropital was editor-in-chief of the review "Oil and Gas Science and Technology - Revue d'IFP Energies nouvelles".
Since 2016, co-animator of the scientific lock "Study of reaction mechanisms on an adapted scale" of IFPEN fundamental research.
Since 2019, he is associate university Professor (PAST) at INSA-Lyon, Mateis Laboratory and Department of Materials Science and Engineering.
He is the author of 2 books, 13 book chapters, more than 68 peer-reviewed publications and 20 patents.
