Ouafae El Ganaoui Mourlan is an engineer graduated from École Centrale Méditerranée and holds a PhD in Fluid Mechanics from Aix-Marseille University II. She is currently a Professor at IFP School, where she leads the Research Master's Program in Vehicle Electrification and Automotive Propulsion, developed in partnership with ENS Paris-Saclay. She obtained her Habilitation to Supervise Research (HDR) from CentraleSupélec at Paris-Saclay University.
Since 2019, she has been co-holder of the ECAV Chair (Electric Connected and Autonomous Vehicles for Smart Mobility), which supports innovative research projects, doctoral supervision, and the integration of technological advances into academic programs. Throughout her career, she has supervised numerous academic projects, ranging from undergraduate capstone projects to doctoral theses, in close collaboration with industrial partners.
Before joining IFP School in 2011, she worked at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), where she developed models for the transfer of radioactive pollutants in aquatic environments. She then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at IFP Energies nouvelles (IFPEN), focusing on injection modeling for internal combustion engines. From 2004 to 2011, she held various strategic positions at Stellantis (formerly PSA Group), covering engine modeling and design as well as industrial auditing.
Since 2020, she has also served as Deputy Vice President of the Education Committee of the International Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies (FISITA). In 2025, she became Vice President for Education, contributing to educational innovation and the development of the skills required by the next generation of engineers.
Her career, characterized by a strong complementarity between academic research and industrial application, is fully aligned with the challenges of the energy transition and sustainable mobility. She is actively committed to strengthening the links between academia and industry to support the development of future industrial sectors, while adapting educational programs to evolving industrial needs and emerging technological challenges.
