A fresh look at faujasite Y zeolites
Faujasite Y zeolites (FAU-Y) have long been essential catalysts in the refining industry and show promising potential for the valorization of bio-based products. A collaborative paper published in the scientific journal Nanoscale, entitled “On the properties and origin of mesopore morphologies in dealuminated Faujasite Y zeolites” sheds new light on the structural and textural transformations of zeolites during post-synthesis treatment.
Multi-scale characterization of catalytic supports : structure-mass transport relationship
Understanding how the structure of a catalytic support determines its diffusion properties is crucial for improving the overall efficiency of heterogeneous catalytic processes. To address this challenge, the PhD research conducted by Stefano Collins employed a novel combination of cutting-edge experimental characterization techniques, making it possible to study the influence of structure on mass transfer in the gaseous state at various scales in meso/macroporous gamma alumina materials.
